Scout Vespers is a song sung by Boy Scouts and Scout Leaders to close a campfire program, to end a meeting, or to finish an evening on a camping trip. It is a great song that is beloved my millions. It holds a special place in the hearts of many Scouts and Scouters. But did you know there are three verses to the song?

Our Troop signs Vespers to close every meeting.. we do two of the three verses. Maybe we will introduce verse three.

Our Troop only sings the first verse, but we discovered the other two (and possibly a fourth) during Scout Sunday this year. It was our closing song of the service, and was really neat to see an old Scouter in the congregation sining the first verse with his eyes closed. No doubt in my mind he was around some campfire as a young Scout for a moment there. Very touching moment.
