Twas the Month Before Christmas

on November 27, 2007 in Holiday

Here is a little Christmas poem for you. I saw this on a Scout forum of which I am a member. I thought this was too good not to pass on to you all. Some of you may have seen this already since it was going around last year already. Enjoy.

*Twas the month before Christmas
*When all through our land,
*Not a Christian was praying
*Nor taking a stand.
*See the PC Police had taken away,
*The reason for Christmas – no one could say.
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
*It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say.
* December 25th is just a “Holiday “.

*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod
*Something was changing, something quite odd!
*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
* At Lowe’s the word Christmas – was no where to be found.
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny’s and Sears
*You won’t hear the word Christmas; it won’t touch your ears.

*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith;
*Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace

*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
*So as you celebrate “Winter Break” under your “Dream Tree”
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say

*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday!

I haven’t read this in a while, I must, and I mean must, give $.02.

    1. America isn’t a theocracy. If we wanted state sponsored holidays, we could move to Iran. They celebrate Ramadan very well there in their Islamic state. We don’t hear “christmas” but we don’t hear “hanukkah” jammed down our throats either.

    2. Jesus wasn’t even born in December. Newly born lambs in Winter? Not possible. Christmas was made a tradional day after, you guessed it, a pagan holiday. Ever wonder why they burn a yule log? It’s from geol, the germanic pagan solstice.

    3. Separation of church and state, 1st amendment:
    * Legal and Financial Separation I: ,the state should not officially establish a religion.

    * Legal and Financial Separation II: the state should not officially fund religious activities.

    * Legal and Financial Separation III: the state should not fund religious activities.

    * Legal and Financial Separation IV: the state should not fund non-religious activities sponsored by religious organizations.

    * Separation of State Authority I: the state should not prescribe, proscribe, or amend religious beliefs.

    * Separation of State Authority II: the state ,should not attempt to endorse or criticize any religious belief or practice.

    That’s why.

  2. Timothy says:

Mike…you aren't even close. The weather is not winter there as we know it here. There is no snow there.
The poem is not referring to a state sponsered holiday! It's about companies, stores, and the public being free to celebrate and well wish others!
