High adventure is a big reason for staying in Boy Scouts!
The Scouts of Melrose Troop 68 have held several high adventure trips, usually every three years. The first was a trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in 1986. Then again in 1989, 1992, and 1998. The troop went to the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia for a trip in 1995. But it was back to Philmont once again in 2004. In 2001 they went to the National Jamboree in Virginia.
On some of these trips the
group advisor
(otherwise
known as the scoutmaster) kept a journal of notes. Some of these
journals
he has actually written out in a complete story format. This page will
bring you to those journals that have been completely written.
With the links found below
you can see many
pictures of these trips to Philmont, the High Noll Trail, Charles
Sommers Canoe Base, and the National Jamboree. It may take you awhile
to view them all. After all, there are over 600 pictures to see.
A
word of warning though
- These journals are long and are actually small books.
You may
want to download them and
read them after you are off-line if you are watching your online time.
These
journals
belong to Steven J. Borgerding. He wrote them and they are his property.
No part
of them may be used or reproduced without his permission.
Most of
the pictures belong to Steve Borgerding, although some are owned by
other
members of the crew.
Please
do not use the pictures on other sites unless you have written approval
from the owner of the photograph.
