Junior Leader Training
February 18, 2001

The Junior Leaders of Central Minnesota Council Troops 1417 and 1418 attended a training session instructed by the adult leaders and committee members to prepare for the upcoming National Jamboree. After the training, they played basketball and enjoyed a swim in the pool.

Let the training begin!

Everyone listen to everything.

Troop Meetings
April 1, 2001

The troop meeting shown here was one of several meetings held by Troops 1417 and 1418 to prepare for the upcoming event. The addition to the usual Jamboree training stuff, we were able to play games and get to know our fellow troop and patrol members. The pictures shown are from a Troop 1417 meeting.

Building a Gateway
June 2001

Every troop needs a gateway to enter and exit their campsite while they are at the jamboree. The Scouts, parents, and adults of Troops 1417 and 1418 spent four days working on the painting and construction of their gateways. It was designed so that each troop could have its own gateway, or the two parts could be combined into one large unit. We were glad when we discovered we would be camped next to each other so that we could form our two parts into one. The Scouts did a great job of designing and painting it. Don't you agree?

Where do we start?

Building the flats.

Who has the plans??

Drawing the council design.

The painting begins.

Each troop had a council design.

This is the joint of two gateways.

Painting the big guy,  Paul Bunyan.

Paul is nearly completed.
