 Melrose Boy Scout Troop 68
Eagle Scout Hall Of Fame

The Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable by a Boy Scout in America. The road which leads toward this rank is long and hard. There may be road blocks and obstacles that try to halt the completion of the rank. Time may run short. But the those who possess strong will and desire will complete the journey and prove they are worthy of the Eagle Rank.
Melrose Troop 68 has several Scouts who have earned this distinction. This page is dedicated to one of them, his accomplishments, and to all Eagle Scouts from across the country.

Eagle Scout Alex Ellering

Alex Ellering ended his days as a Boy Scout in June, 2003, when he celebrated his eighteenth birthday. Alex began his Scouting days as a Cub Scout of Pack 68 in Melrose, Minnesota. He joined Troop 68 in 1996 when he graduated to Boy Scouting from the Melrose Pack 68.
Alex was a member of the Dragon Patrol during his years as a Boy Scout. He has served as Patrol Leader, and other troop offices including troop quartermaster.
He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in May of 2003. He has earned 21 merit badges. He is the troop's twelfth Eagle Scout. Alex did earn his Ad Altari Dei religious award.   His Eagle project consisted of improvement work done at one of the cities' parks.
Mr. Ellering will graduate from high school in 2003. In addition to Scouting, he has been active in high school golf, and is an active member of St. Mary's Church.

Alex is about ready to become a Boy Scout. He has already got a Troop 68 tee shirt.

Alex, along with four other Scouts, earned the Ad Altari Day Catholic religious award.
(Just a note: Four of these five scouts earned the Eagle Award.)

Alex and friends from Troop 68 had a lot of fun exploring the hiding spots at Eagle Caves in Wisconsin.

Troop 68 puts on a show called Laughs For Lunch every year. Alex became one of the main performers for the show.

In 2002, Troop 68 sent ten scout to the BWCA in northern Minnesota for a week of canoeing. Of course, Alex went along.

Alex took a moment in the BWCA to do a little work while sitting on the nicest beach of the trek.

Alex and Mike prepare supper at one of the campsites we stayed at during our trip through the BWCA.
