Laughs For Lunch
On January 24, 1998, Troop 68 held its third "Laughs For Lunch" program. This program was a campfire program performed at the high school auditorium, complete with songs and skits. It was open to the public. The troop also used the program as a service project by asking people who attended the show to bring a nonperishable food item. Thus we provided the laughs while the audience provided the lunch for the needy.
The pictures here show three scenes from the show.

Troop 68 held its spring Court of Honor on March 30, 1998.
Pictured here are the Scouts who received merit badges.

Ripley Rendezvous
The Central Minnesota Council has held this event in conjunction with Camp Ripley for quite a number of years. Nearly a thousand Scouts and leaders from all over central Minnesota participate in this event. The troops stay in the barracks and eat in the dining halls. Scouts are busy with competitions during the day. The troops gather Saturday evening for the big show.
Here are a few pictures just to give you an idea of the fun of Ripley.

Summer Camp
What would Scouting be if a troop didn't attend a summer camp? The members of Troop 68 attended camp at Many Point Scout Camp during a week in July. Archery, rifle shooting, swimming, canoeing, sailing, climbing tower, and a lot more activities keep every busy when they were not working on their merit badges. There is just too much to do at camp!

Service to Others
Duty to Others is an important part of being a Boy Scout. Troop 68 was active in several service projects during the year including cleaning road ditches, forming a team for the Cancer Walk For Life fundraiser, cleaning streets in Melrose, and participating in the yearly Scouting For Food Drive.
