Ripley
Rendezvous
March 30 - April 1,
1990
Once again the Central
Minnesota Council and
Camp Ripley teamed up to bring the Ripley Rendezvous to the Scouts of
the
council. It was pretty much the same agenda as past years, but that was
all right. Everyone always has a good time at Ripley.
Memorabilia

Spring
Camporee
April 20-22, 1990
The district had a spring
get-together with sports
featured as a theme. Troops competed in volleyball, tug of war, and
several
other activities. The highlight of the weekend for troop 68 was during
the Saturday night campfire program when a state senator was on hand to
present a new USA flag to the troop which best demonstrated the Scout
Oath
and Law, and they called Melrose Troop 68 forward! The Scouts
definitely
deserved a pat on the back that evening.

Scout
Expo
May 5, 1990
Troop 68 participated in the
district's Scout
Expo held in St. Cloud. Our booth theme was cinematography, and took up
two booths. The local theater was kind enough to let us borrow posters
for our display. Mel-TV 3 was very helpful by allowing us to use
television
equipment.

Summer
Camp
July 15-21, 1990
Eighteen troop members
attended a week long summer
camp at Crow Wing Scout Reservation near Nevis, Minnesota. A lot of
merit
badges were earned and a lot of fun was had by all!

Order
Of The Arrow Sectional Conclave
October 5-7, 1990
Four Troop 68 Scouts and their
scoutmaster attended
the sectional conclave. It was the first one ever attended by Scouts
from
Melrose. It was fun, informational, and interesting. This was the 75th
anniversary of the Order Of The Arrow.
