Did I get any magic when I was an inexperienced young lad? No, I got killed my first game with the big boys for I wasn't important enough. And my second. (Neither of which were my fault, I didn't touch and black gems)
Jake and Brent when did you guys get your first magical item? Hmm? I got mine almost 2 years after I started playing.
Just a thought to the DM,

P.S. By the way Steve, don't you think you were holding back a little when we played last? I think 2 displacer beasts is pretty pathetic for three level 6 characters and a level 5 one. On one of games with the 1st level dudes I got to battle 2 displacers. (and defeated them!)
